A warm wooden space
where you can relax at your own pace

Asahi Town in Yamagata Prefecture, nurtured by the Asahi Mountain Range and the Mogami River, is known for delicious fruit such as apples and its rich natural surroundings. Guesthouse Sachi Sanchi is a traditional Japanese house with large windows and rooms divided by fusuma sliding doors. Open the doors, and a fresh breeze flows through the house. We invite you to slow down and enjoy nature in a warm, home-like setting.

The attention to wood throughout the house reflects the legacy of my father, who worked in the lumber industry. The carved transoms in the guest rooms and the design of the staircase are especially distinctive.

OWNER Sachiko Kawakami

I opened Guesthouse Sachi Sanchi in April 2026 after wondering how I could make use of my cherished family home, which had been vacant. I currently divide my time between Kanagawa Prefecture and Yamagata. Now that my children are grown, I have begun a new chapter in my hometown. I hope to make the guesthouse a welcoming third place where people can gather.
